Imation™ IR B Plus and IR C Plus Laser Imaging Film
Product Data Sheet

3M™ IR B Plus and IR C Plus Laser Imaging Films by Imation™ are designed to match the output of the infrared laser diode used in Imation Laser Imager Systems. Excellent image detail and consistent system performance can be obtained using Imation laser imaging films.

Imation Laser Imaging Film emulsions are coated on a clear or blue, seven mil, polyester base which allows for trouble-free film transport in Imation laser imager systems. Plus, an antihalation layer provides for sharp images by virtually eliminating light scatter.

Imation™ IR B Plus and IR C Plus Laser Imaging Film contrast and speed are optimized to Imation laser imager systems' infrared laser output. These films work together with system software options providing quality and consistency from image to image and film to film.

Imation system engineering and emulsion technologies are designed to produce consistent image quality and reliable performance of the Imation laser imager systems when used with Imation laser imaging films. Clearly, this makes Imation laser imager systems, with a choice of blue- or clear-based laser imaging films, the standard in digital imaging.

Imation IR Plus laser imaging films are available in standard or daylight load packaging. The 3M™ Daylight Load Magazine by Imation™, together with Imation IR Plus laser imaging film in daylight packaging, allows film loading without removing the magazine from the laser imager system and eliminates the need for a darkroom.

Spectral Sensitivity

Imation laser imaging films are infrared sensitive and have been sensitized to the infrared light emission of Imation laser imager systems.

Image Quality

Imation laser imaging films feature a special 3M-developed emulsion that eliminates interference patterns caused by reflected light to provide maximum image quality and the highest possible diagnostic information.

Imation IR B Plus and IR C Plus laser imaging films feature: cool black image tone; dense black background; sharp, clear alpha numerics; and optimized speed and contrast. These features, combined with system software options, make these films appropriate for all modalities.

Processing and Darkroom Handling

Imation laser imaging films are designed to be easily handled in a darkroom using a suitable green safelight such as the 3M™ IR Safelight by Imation™. Imation IR B Plus and IR C Plus laser imaging films can be processed in any automatic processor. For automatic processing, Imation film processors are recommended.

Storage

Unlike other infrared-sensitive films, Imation laser imaging films require no special refrigerated storage conditions. Imation laser imaging films must be protected from radiation and chemical fumes. For consistent results up to the expiration date on product package, the film must be stored in a relatively cool, dry place. Recommended storage conditions: 5 degrees C to 25 degrees C (41 degrees F to 77 degrees F).
